Here’s The Message To Email President Obama -
Dear President Obama,
Please don’t sign S.1011 & HR.2314, the Akaka bill.
Despite what senators Akaka & Inouye tell you, the people of Hawaii don't support this bill. We’ve never been consulted.
Not one public hearing has ever been held in Hawaii on this version of the bill. Don’t we get a say in our own future?
This bill claims to award self-determination to native Hawaiians through US federal recognition administered by the Department of Interior.
Yet DOI has been found in contempt for its inability to account for millions of acres & billions of native American dollars.
Given what has happened to native Americans under federal recognition, that would be a disaster for native Hawaiians.
A state of Hawaii survey shows a majority of Hawaii’s voters have little idea what this bill would actually do.
I stand unified with my Hawaiian brothers & sisters opposed to S.1011 & HR.2314.
PLEASE DON'T SIGN THE AKAKA BILL INTO LAW!

Dear Senator,
I write to express strong opposition to S.1011 known as the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act of 2009. It falsely purports to award political self-determination to Native Hawaiians through US federal recognition.
Despite what senators Akaka & Inouye tell you, the people of Hawaii don't support this bill. We’ve never been consulted.

S.1011 names the US Department of Interior as the administrative agency to oversee, authorize and implement a political/economic settlement between native Hawaiians and the United States of America.
US District Court Judge Royce Lamberth has repeatedly found the Department of Interior in contempt for it’s unconscionable refusal and inability to account for untold millions of acres and billions of native American dollars.
Department of Interior involvement in any political and economic settlement for native Hawaiians would therefore be disastrous.
Additionally, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, a Hawaii State agency, is illegally spending native Hawaiian trust funds to lobby for the passage of the Akaka bill.
Yet a state of Hawaii survey shows a majority of Hawaii’s voters have little idea what the bill would actually do.
Neither the Office of Hawaiian Affairs nor Governor Lingle, nor Senators Akaka or Inouye, or any other proponent, speak for me on the Akaka bill!
I stand unified with my Hawaiian brothers and sisters, staunchly opposed to S.1011.
Please help us defeat this bill. Ask for hearings in Hawaii.
PLEASE VOTE “NO” ON S.1011.
Thank you,
